Youth and Family Enrichment Services (YFES) is a private non-profit agency in San Mateo County that provides a wide array of free and low-cost services to help children, teens and adults who are dealing with substance abuse, domestic violence, mental health, relationship and communication issues. The YFES Learning Together program provides free home visits to help families in East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park and Redwood City prepare their children aged 0-5 for school. Baby Basics receives referrals of qualifying families in need from the Learning Together program. For more information about their services, please visit their website at: www.yfes.org
Arbor Free Clinic provides basic health care services at no charge to underserved populations in the South Bay area and fosters the clinical development of current and future medical students. Arbor is comprised of volunteer physicians, students, and translators and receives funding from private contributions and from the Office of Student Services at Stanford Medical School. www.arbor.stanford.edu
Help A Mother Out (HAMO) is dedicated to increasing access to diapers for families in need. Started by two moms (March, 2009) with an initial investment of $100, this one time diaper drive has evolved into a nationally-recognized grassroots organization raising diapers, awareness, and advocating for long term change in the social safety net. www.helpamotherout.org
The Parents' Club of Palo Alto and Menlo Park (PAMP) The mission of the Parents' Club of Palo Alto and Menlo Park is to enrich the lives of families with young children and our local community. PAMP is a diverse group of parents who have come together to form a volunteer-led, non-profit organization that provides education, support, social activities and structures to network and learn from each other. www.pampclub.org
The Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. www.thejuniorleague.org
